Bedford, December 4. - M. P. Heckerman, a well known resident of Bedford, died at his home on East John street, this place, this morning, after an illness extending over a period of several months. He was the well known salesman for Fort Bedford peanut products and about a year ago, fell and broke his ankle. Since that time he had been on the road but little, becoming seriously ill some months ago. Matthew Peeples Heckerman (familiarly known as "Peeps" Heckerman) was a son of the late Rev. Henry Heckerman, a Reformed minister of this county, and was born at Everett in July 1847. He was united in marriage in early life to Miss Rebecca Haderman and besides his widow, leaves the following children: Henry C. and Calton Heckerman, both of Bedford; Adam B., of Port Royal; Nevin, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Ella, wife of Charles E. Horton, of Huntingdon. The funeral services will likely be held at his late home on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J. A. Eyler, of the Reformed church, officiating. Interment in the Bedford cemetery.
