Helsel On Tuesday morning this community was shocked to learn of the sad fate of Harrison Reffner Helsel who for the past eight years worked at Braddock. For a while he worked for the P.R.R. company, but at the time of his death worked for a steel company. Mr. Helsel was boarding at a hotel in Braddock and was found at 2 o'clock Sunday morning, the 29th, shot through the head. It is believed he met with foul play. He was removed to the hospital and died two hours later. Mr. Helsel boarded within one square of the home of his brother, David Helsel, and was taken past his door to the hospital and past again when he was taken to the morgue. His brother did not know of his death until Monday morning when Mrs. Helsel wired to the hotel and asked to talk to Harrison, but was informed by the proprietor that he was dead. Deceased was born December 16, 1883, and died December 29, 1918, aged 35 years and 13 days. He is survived by his parents, John W. and Jane Helsel, of New Enterprise, R.F.D.; one brother, David I. of Braddock and three sisters, Mrs. Rufus Koontz, of Yellow Creek; Mrs. Loretta Frederick, of Altoona, and Carrie, at home. Two sisters preceded him to the great beyond. The funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Holsinger Church of the Brethren near Baker's Summit, by Rev. Levi T. Holsinger. Interment in the cemetery at the church. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family. The parents wish to thank the neighbors who so kindly assisted during their sad bereavement.
