Bedford, Jan. 7. - After an illness of several weeks from pneumonia, Claar Hershberger, aged about 34 years, passed away at his home on West Penn Street yesterday afternoon. Deceased was the second son of John and the late Ella Claar Hershberger and was born at this place. Several years ago he was married to Miss Long, of Hopewell, who, with one child survives; he also leaves his father, two sisters and a brother: Mrs. D. Donahoe, Mrs. Edgar Miller, and William Hershberger, all of this place. Interment will be made in the local cemetery tomorrow afternoon, services being held at his late home. For some time Mr. Hershberger had been janitor at the public school building and his work was thorough and satisfactory. Since his illness a number of the teachers have been unable to fill their contracts on account of the low temperature in a part of the building, the heating plant not being understood by those who are endeavoring to fill the janitor's place.
