All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/bedford/ _______________________________________________ GEORGE ALBERT HILLEGASS Former Bedford Court Official Dies At Home (Special to Altoona Mirror) Buffalo Mills - George Albert Hillegass, 88, who served for 34 years as a director of the poor and for two terms as a Bedford County Commissioner, died at his home here at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He was a Republican committeeman at the time of his death and a member of the Methodist church. He was born Feb. 6, 1869, in Juniata township, a son of John and Sarah (Walker) Hillegass, and married Maude Pennel, who preceded him in death. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Chester England of Everett, Md., Mrs. Marian Barkley of Buffalo Mills, Md, Mrs. Walter Funston of Hagerstown, Md., and James M. of Manns Choice; a number of grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
