HINKLE [photo] Samuel Hinkle Dies; Officer Of Cove Bank Samuel H. Hinkle, 89, vice president of the First National Bank, Roaring Spring, died at 2.40 p.m. Monday in his home at Bakers Summit, Roaring Spring RD. Mr. Hinkle had been a director of the bank since it was organized. He had served as justice of the peace in Bloomfield Township for 59 years and had been secretary-treasurer of the township board of supervisors for 48 years. He retired several years ago as an inspector for the McNeal Lumber Company. Mr. Hinkle was a member of the Barley Lutheran Church. He was born Feb. 19, 1869, in Bakers Summit, a son of Christian and Barbara (Holsinger) Hinkle. His wife, the former Mary P. Pote, whom he married Oct. 27, 1892, died March 21, 1957. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Lennis Brumbaugh of Central City and Mrs. Frances Long, A. Wayne and S. Carl of Bakers Summit, and one brother and one sister, Lloyd H. of Bedford and Mrs. Ardella Maffly of Altoona.
