NANCY POTE HOOVER Wife of Samuel Hoover, died at her home in Salemville, Bedford county, on Monday, death following a year's illness attributed to a stroke of apoplexy. She was a daughter of Barbara Claar and was born on June 10, 1874, and was united in marriage with Samuel E. Hoover on Oct. 18, 1894, who survives, with two children, Mrs. Berger C. Baker(?) and Mrs. Devin E. Bassler, both of Salemville; one sister, Mrs. John Tipton, and one half-brother, Calvin Helsel, both of Claysburg, and four grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren for twenty-seven years. Funeral services will be conducted at the home at Salemville Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock and interment will be made in the Berger cemetery. Altoona Mirror, February 26, 1934
