Hotnisky, 93, of Saxton, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 25, 1913, in Dudley, he was a son of the late Joseph and Nancy (Segan) Hotnisky. He was united in marriage to the former Ruth M. Gribble, Jan. 9, 1936, in the parsonage of the Dudley Catholic Church. Mrs. Hotnisky survives at home. Mr. Hotnisky is also survived by three children, Joan R. Hoilman and husband, David, and Gary Ronald Hotnisky and wife, Mary (Detwiler), all of Alexandria, Va.; and Darrell J. Hotnisky and wife, Sally (Hoover), Saxton; four grandchildren, Bradley Hoilman, Khristina Padberg, Darrell Hotnisky Jr. and Eric Hotnisky; and four great-grandchildren, Mary Beth Padberg, Richard Alan Padberg, Shawn Hotnisky and Andrew Hotnisky. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Andrew, Michael, Betty, Anna, Mary and Agnes. Mr. Hotnisky was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 900, Altoona, for 50 years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and loved to spend time in his woodshop building various things. He was a meticulous craftsman, building grandfather clocks, cabinetry and all kinds of furniture. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Monday, April 16, at the Long-Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church St., Saxton, with lay minister James Snyder officiating. Interment will be made in the Fockler Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Hotnisky to the Saxton First Church of God, 1018 Sixth St., Saxton, PA 16678.
