Mrs. Mary, wife of Bartley Hughes, committed suicide by shooting herself on 
Friday, August 14, at her home in East Providence township.  She was born June 
19, 1851, and was a daughter of George Ritchey.  Her first husband was George 
Morgart, deceased.  In 1898 she married Bartley Hughes who, with three children, 
survives her:  Charles Morgat of Defiance, Edward of Elkins, W. Va., and Mrs. 
Anna Naugle of West Providence.  Rev. H. M. Petrea conducted the funeral 
services which were held at Ray's Hill at 2 p.m. Sunday.—Bedford Gazette.
