G. I. Ickes Dies; Retired Farmer

  George I. Ickes, retired Osterburg RD 1 farmer, died at 5.50 p.m. 
Saturday in his home.
  Mr. Ickes was born Nov. 14, 1877, in King Township, Bedford County, a 
son of George H. and Hannah (Mauk) Ickes. His wife, the former Etta Mae 
Imler, died Feb. 3. Four sisters also preceded him in death.
  Surviving are three children, Clarence of Osterburg, Mrs. Ruth Wright 
of Toledo, Ohio, and Howard of Bedford RD 2; six grandchildren and 18 
great-grandchildren.
  Mr. Ickes was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Osterburg 
for 60 years and a member of the Osterburg Grange.
  Friends will be received in the Carn Funeral Home, Claysburg, after 7 
p.m. today.
