Veda B. (ROSE) IMES

Bedford Inquirer, Aug. 11, 1989;

Veda B. IMES, 90, of Bedford RD 6, died Friday, Aug. 4, 
1989, at her home. She was born Feb. 4, 1899, in Cumberland 
Valley, daughter of the late Harry and Lucy Jane (HOOK) 
ROSE. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elza R. IMES 
in 1970. She is survived by one daughter, Avanell R. IMES, 
of Bedford RD 6; and the following brothers and sisters: 
Oscar F. ROSE, William H. ROSE, R. Milton ROSE and Mrs. 
Dolly OLIVER, wife of Lewis , all of Cumberland Valley; and 
Mrs. Leona HOY, wife of Harold, of Girard, Ohio. Also 
surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in 
death by three brothers, Sherman ROSE, Arthur S. ROSE and 
Vernon Grant ROSE, and one sister, Grace HITE. She was a 
member of Bortz Lutheran Church, the Rose Genealogy Society 
and the Senior Citizens of Centerville. Mrs. IMES and her 
husband had resided in Detroit for over 40 years and had 
returned to Cumberland Valley for their retirement. Funeral 
services: Monday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m. at Bortz Lutheran Church 
with intern Gregory Berger and the Rev. John F. Samuel 
officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
