She was born in Cumberland Valley, where she spent her girlhood days. She married Sebastian Kegg, of Friend's Cove, where they resided for several years. From thence, they moved to Mench, where they spent the remainder of their life. Mr. Kegg preceded her to the great beyond about twenty-two years ago. Mrs. Kegg died at the ripe old age of eight-seven years, one month and twenty-three days. In early life, she connected herself with the Christian church and through her whole life was a devout Christian. The church has lost one of its regular and reverential members, the community, a kind neighbor and loving friend. One of her greatest ambitions was to see that the poor and needy were taken care of. She was a model woman in all that the word implies. She was the mother of twelve children. Seven preceded her to the spirit world. She leaves to survive her two sisters: Mrs. John R. Jordan, of Bedford; Mrs. William Speaker, of Alliance, Ohio, one brother, Josiah Zembower, of Mench, and the following children: Mrs. David Calhoun, Mrs. Simon Bussard, Levi Kegg, Solomon Kegg and Mrs. Samuel Morris, all of whom reside in the immediate vicinity of Mench. She is also survived by thirty grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J. R. Logue in the Mount Union church. Interment in the cemetery adjoining the church. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord." W. F. B. Bedford Gazette 2/2/1900
