Bedford, January 16 - Mrs. Jane M. Kerr, widow of Edward F. Kerr, esq., died at her home on South Juliana street, this place, this morning, after a long illness. Deceased was aged about 72 years and was a daughter of the late Major Samuel Tate, also a well known lawyer and former prothonotary at this place. In September 1890 she was united in marriage with Hon. Edward F. Kerr, one of the most prominent members of the Bedford county bar. In her death Bedford loses one of its most highly esteemed residents, the Presbyterian church one of its most consistent members, and the community a friend who was ever willing to lend her aid in any way. Deceased is survived by two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Martha Smith and Mrs. Eliza Cowan, both of Philadelphia; Joseph W. and Huston Tate, both of Bedford. The funeral arrangements have not been made but services will likely be held at the late home on Friday, Rev. Ka. A. Bishars, her pastor, conducting the services. Interment in the Bedford cemetery.
