Her maiden name was Hardman and she was, on August 10, 1839, united in holy wedlock to Henry Kinzey, who preceded her to the spirit world almost twenty four years ago. Their union was blessed with nine children - four sons and five daughters. Those surviving are Jacob, of New Buena Vista; Joseph, of Helixville; Albert, of New Paris; Margaret, wife of E. F. Adams, of Cumberland; Ellen, wife of Adam Rose, of New Paris, and Caroline, wife of Jacob Geller, of Chicago. Decedent was a member of the Reformed church at Schellsburg. She was the last link of the family chain; her brothers and sisters all preceded her to the land of spirits. Since 1893, she had been making her home with her sons and daughters. The funeral service took place on Saturday and was conducted in the old White church which stands in the Union cemetery at Schellsburg. Here decedent had attended catechise, here her husband's funeral was conducted and it was therefore, fitting, that hers be here also. Mrs. Kinzey was well known at this end of the county and she was familiarly called "Aunt Sophie." She was a genial and kindhearted friend and neighbor. Peace to her ashes!
