He was born at Pavia on Dec. 7, 1897, a son of Jacob and Ida (Hite) Lingenfelter. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jennie (Black) Lingenfelter, one daughter, Mrs. R. C. Schomek of Johnstown, and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Mayberry Feathers and Joseph Lingenfelter of Duncansville, Mrs. Mildred Feathers of Claysburg, Luther of Sproul, Mrs. Ray Boland of Portage nad Paul of Detroit, Mich. Mr. Lingenfelter was a member of the Claysburg Church of the Brethren and the Claysburg post, American Legion. He was a veteran of World war I, having served as a sergeant in Co. G, 319th infantry, 80th division, in the battles of St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne and Artorio sector. Friends will be received at the CArn funeral home, Claysburg, after 3 o'clock this afternoon. Military honors will be accorded Mr. Lingenfelter by the Claysburg American Legion post. Altoona Mirror, September 5, 1951
