All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/bedford/ _______________________________________________ Loy McMullin Loy McMullin, of Pittsburgh, died here at the home of his brother, Olive McMullin, Tuesday morning, of jaundice. He came to Bedford about six weeks ago. Decedent was a son of James and Mary McMullin and was born at this place fifty-two years ago. In January, 1870, he removed to Pittsburgh. He was in the employ of the Western Union Telegraph company for nearly thirty years, and for many year was chief of the quad-duplex system of telegraphy. Mr. McMullin was a trustworthy employee and was universally esteemed by employers, fellow operators and patrons of the office in which he worked. He was one of the most skillful operators in the state. Twenty-two years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Lizzie Huff/Hutt?, of Coshocton, O. His widow and two sons, James and William survive him. The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. Emory M. Stevens, pastor of the the Methodist Episcopal church.
