James B. Montgomery, brother of Mrs. S. L. Russell, of Bedford, died at
his home in Portland, Ore., on Thursday of last week.  From the Pittsburg
Post we glean the following information about the deceased:  News has been 
received here of the death yesterday in Portland, Ore., of James B. Montgomery, 
at one time well known in Pittsburgh.  He was a member of the firm of Gilmore & 
Montgomery, owners of tbe Pittsburgh Post, up until 1858.  Many years ago, the 
deceased removed from Pittsburgh to the west, although be had always retained 
great interest in this city.  His relatives here are Mrs. James McCrea, wife
of the first vice president of the Pennsylvania lines west, and W. B. 
Moorehead, a cousin.
