Nathaniel Mowry died at the Altoona hospital yesterday morning at 3 o'clock following an operation for nephritis which was performed a week ago. He was a lifelong resident of Pleasantville, Bedford county. He had been visiting at the home of a son, Lloyd H. Mowry of Eldorado for the past several weeks. He was brought to the son's home soon after being taken ill. Mr. Mowry was born Feb. 14, 1840, near Shellsburg, Bedford county, and was the son of John and Elizabeth Mowry. He lived on a farm near Pleasantville and was well known throughout Bedford county. His wife preceded him to the grave a number of years ago. The following children survive: Mrs. Grant Miller of Buffalo Mills, Frank of Altoona, Lloyd of Eldorado, G. S. Mowry and Mrs. Jesse Oldham, both of Windber. One brother, Isaiah Mowry of this city, also survives. The funeral services will be held this evening at 7.30 from the son's home in Eldorado. The remains will be taken to Pleasantville tomorrow morning for interment. Mr. Mowry was a member of the Lutheran church. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Thursday Morning, May 2, 1918
