Bedford, January 2. - Despondent over ill health, Charles Nagler, Jr., committed suicide at his home on West Pitt street, this place, about 3 o'clock this morning by cutting his throat with a razor. He was aged about 31 years and was the second son of Charles W. Nagler, well known barber of this place, and for some years has been assisting his father in the shop. Besides his father, he leaves a wife, four brothers and a sister: Frank, of this place; William, in France; Mrs. May Hershiser, of Cumberland; Mrs. Lillian Dodson, at home. Interment will be made at this place, likely on Saturday afternoon. Altoona Tribune, Friday, January 3, 1919, page 2
