Ober, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Morrison's cove, Bedford county, is dead from pneumonia, the result of a severe cold contracted while visiting his daughter, Mrs. A. S. Ebersole of this city, several weeks ago. He was taken to his home in New Enterprise in the incipiency of the disease, but while improving somewhat, was never able, owing to his advanced years, to throw it off, and he died peacefully as he had lived. Mr. Ober was a descendant of one of the pioneer families in South Woodbury township, having been born in 1837 practically in the locality in which he died. He was aged 81 years and was a member of one of the largest family trees in Bedford county. Mr. Ober was a farmer during his entire life until some eight years ago, when his son, H. B. Ober, formerly of Altoona, returned to the homestead and relieved his father. He was united in marriage to Amanda Buck of New Enterprise and is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. A. S. Ebersole of 2114 Eighth avenue, Altoona; Harvey B. Ober of New Enterprise and Mrs. Rev. E. I. Holsinger of Pittsburgh. He is survived also by a number of grandchildren and the following sisters: Mrs. Delilah Brumbaugh of New Enterprise, Mrs. Susan Long and Mrs. Hattie Kagarise of eastern Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be conducted in the Brethren church at New Enterprise of which he was many years a consistent member and constant attendant at 10 a.m. Thursday. Interment in the New Enterprise cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday Morning, April 24, 1918
