BEDFORD

  After a short illness from pneumonia, Rev. W. H. Pollard, pastor of the 
A.M.E. Zion church and prominent among the colored people of this place, died 
Thursday evening at his home on Union street, aged about 55 years.  He came to 
Bedford several years ago to take charge of this church.  He is survived by 
his wife and several children, two of whom are at home.  The funeral will 
likely take place Sunday afternoon.
