We were shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Hattie Reffner 
Monday morning, December 10, aged 22 years and 8 months, note of which 
was made by your New Enterprise correspondent last week. She was a 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Pressel of Lafayettesville. At a very 
early age she united with the Lutheran church at Barley's and was an 
active member until her death. Six years ago she was married to William 
Reffner. She is survived by her husband, mother, one sister, Mrs. Frank 
Ferry of King, Bedford county, and four brothers, Reuben and Harry of 
Lafayettesville, Lloyd of Altoona, and Harry of Pittsburg. Funeral 
services were conducted in Barley's Lutheran church by her pastor, Rev. 
C. M. Aurand. Interment in Barley's cemetery. We extend our sympathy to 
the bereaved husband and friends.
