W. of Liberty Township died on June 7, aged about 68 years. His parents were George and Elizabeth Rhodes, long since deceased, and he was married to Miss Ella Rouser, who survives, to which union were born, Alta at home, Ralph, at home and Earle of Nazareth, Pa. He has also one brother, James Rhodes of Saxton, Rt. 1 and one sister, Mrs. Katie Little of Saxton, who survive. He was buried on June the 9th, at St. Luke's Cemetery, Rev. J. A. Eyler, of Bedford preaching and conducting the service in the church adjacent. Mr. Rhodes, was a through going Christian, having been a member of the Reformed church for years and was for many years an elder of the church and was very prominent as a church man. He was for several years, treasurer of the Bedford County Sabbath School Association, but had to decline any further participation lately in that direction, on account of his health. He was also a very great Granger attending all its meetings. He served for years as school director of Liberty township. In fact, his services were sought continually in everything.
