The child died in the hospital at 9:00 o'clock Monday night after being admitted there October 26. He never regained consciousness. The boy had been admitted to the hospital Nov. 7 of last year, suffering from wounds on the face inflicted by shotgun pellets fired from outside a window at his home. Investigation of the shooting failed to disclose the person who had fired the shot. Since it made a hole less than two inches in diameter in the window, the gun was fired not more than six feet from the window, it was believed. According to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert ROSE, Gary had apparently recovered after the shooting. He was taken ill on Oct. 25 while at school. It was understood that he was struck in the face by a snowball on that afternoon of the first snow in the area. After he was removed to his home he suffered convulsions and lapsed into unconsciousness early the following morning. A Hollidaysburg physician was consulted and advised the child's removal to the hospital. Deputy Corner Crawford of Blair County is handling the investigation at the hospital and is expected to notify Bedford County authorities of his findings. Gary Norman ROSE was born at Bedford RT. 4, March 5, 1953, a son of Hubert and Alice (MILLS) ROSE. He was a student in the Colerain Township schools.
