ROSE Bedford Inquirer, Friday, January 18, 1895 Cumberland Valley, January 14, 1895 Death has again visited this community, and claimed for its victim Henry B. ROSE, aged 79 years four months and twenty six days. (NOTE; born 15 Aug 1815, died; 11 Jan 1895) Father ROSE was an industrious and useful man in this community, and amassed a handsome fortune not withstanding the domestic cares which evolved upon him and his faithful wife who preceded him about four years ago to the sprit world, he had time to attend to his spiritual wants. He was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church for 56 years; always ready and willing to do his part. When you met him he greeted you with a handshake and a smile. Father ROSE was lived by all who knew him. He was a kind and affectionate father, a good neighbor and a Christian man. He was a great sufferer, being a cripple for many years, and then a cancerous affection set in, which terminated his life. He leaves 6 children to mourn his loss. A funeral sermon was preached by the writer assisted by Rev. Edmon of the M. P. Church. Signed H. McClinic.
