ROSE [paper unknown] Ralph W. Rose, 62, of R.D. 6, Bedford, died Saturday, November 26, 1983, at his home. He was born, July 11, 1921, in Somerset County, a son of Benjamin F. ROSE, of R.D. 1, New Paris, and the late Minnie Pearl (ONSTEAD) ROSE. Surviving are his wife, Violet (HIGH) ROSE, whom he married on September 30, 1942, and the following children: Marilyn GUTOWSKI, of Rocky Hill, Conn.; Harold Ray ROSE, of Chambersburg, Pa.; Barbara CORLE, of Osterburg; Fern ROSE, of R.D. 5, Bedford; Dennis ROSE, of Naples, Fla.; Delores LANTZ, of R.D. 5, Bedford; Ronald and Rodney Allen ROSE, both at home. Two granddaughters and two grandsons also survive along with three brothers, Delbert ROSE, of Marion, Ohio; Calvin ROSE, of Sycamore, Ohio; and Blaine ROSE, of Prospect, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lester. Mr. Rose was a member of Bedford United Methodist Church, Bedford VFW Post # 7375, an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater, and had retired in February 1983 after 15 years service with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Funeral services: Tuesday, November 29, at 2 p.m. from Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, Bedford, with Rev. Carl Hill officiating. Burial in Fishertown Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford honor Guard.
