All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bob Rose Jul 2003 Walter ROSE [pencil dated Dec. 14, 1931] Young Man Met Death While at Work Walter ROSE of near Centerville, while working on the new Cumberland dam at Lake Gordon, fell Monday morning about 25 feet from a concrete car, sustaining a broken neck and fractured skull. Hastily removed to the Allegany Hospital at Cumberland, he was dead when examined by Dr. Deming. This is the third fatality on the work since its beginning last December. The young man was aged 27, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. D.C. ROSE of Centerville, and is survived by his wife, who was Nellie DEMOSS, three brothers, Paul, Clyde and Roy, and two sisters, Mrs. Fay ELLIOTT and Mrs. Mable CESSNA, all of Bedford Valley. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Centerville Church, with interment in the Fellowship cemetery.
