She had been ill for some time but the day previous to her death had been in her usual health, having helped her daughter-in-law with some of the housework. A few hours after having retired for the night she called her daughter-in-law to give her some medicine, which she did, but death soon came to her relief. She was aged 55 years, 11 months and 17 days. Mrs. Settle was twice married. Her first husband's name was Laben Johnson, who preceeded her to the spirit land. She was later united in marriage with Henry Settle, who preceded her in death five years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss four sons and one daughter, namely: Frank Johnson, of Altoona; John and Scott Johnson and Mrs. Homer Dick of Roaring Spring, and Luther Johnson of Maria. Also twelve grandchildren survive. The funeral took place Thursday afternoon at the Holsinger Church of the Brethren of which she was a member. The services were conducted by Rev. John B. Miller of Curryville. Interment was made in the cemetery near the church. Martinsburg Herald, June 7, 1912
