(ROSE) SHAFFER [undated clipping; newspaper unknown] Fannie P. SHAFFER, 85, of New Paris, died Sunday, July 5, 1981 in Mercy Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born June 17, 1896 in Cumberland Valley, a daughter of the late Espy and Maude (GILLUM) ROSE. She was preceded in death by her husband Ross in 1975, also by three brothers. Surviving are these children: Harry, married to the former Betty FISHER, of New Paris; Galen, married to the former Diana LEWIS, of Severna Park, Md.; Anna wife of John DEREMER of Cameron, Montana; Betty, wife of Robert HALL, of Muskegon, Michigan; and Helen, wife of George FERKO, of Central City. Thirty-one grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild also survive, along with these four brothers, Hosea ROSE, of Moorhead, Minnesota; Norman (Jack) ROSE of Manns Choice; Russell ROSE, of Bedford, R.D. 6; and Ralph ROSE, of Bedford. Mrs. SHAFFER was a member of the New Paris United Methodist Church. Funeral services: Wednesday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at the Jack Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville, with Rev. William Starr officiating. Burial in Bedford County Memorial Park.
