Shiffler died at his home in Woodbury township, Bedford county, on January 21, death being due to a complication of diseases. He was born August 13, 1856, at Roaring Spring, being aged 63 years, 5 months and 8 days. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. S. J. Teeter of Llyswen, Mrs. W. R. Kagarise of New Enterprise, Mrs. D. F. Riley and C. C. Shiffler, of Hollidaysburg. He is also survived by the following half brothers and sisters: Mrs. Eli Emigh and Mrs. Edward Butler of Roaring Spring and Harry Shiffler of Cross Keys. He was a life long member of the Church of the Brethren. Funeral services were conducted in the Replogle church at Woodbury on Saturday morning, the procession leaving the house at 9 o'clock.
