Shoemaker, Co. D, 101st Infantry, enrolled Nov. 1, 1861 at Rainsburg, Pa. and was mustered in Dec. 6, 1861 as Private at Harrisburg, Pa. He was aged 26 at enrollment, with a dark complexion, gray eyes, dark hair and was 5' 11" tall. He was a farmer residing in Bedford Co., Pa. at the time. He was promoted to Corporal, date unknown. He died at New Bern, North Carolina, Nov. 11, 1864 of yellow fever.(ARIAS, Pennsylvania State Archives) Isaac F. Shoemaker, Corporal, was mustered into service 6 Dec 1861 for a three- year term of service. He died at Newbern, N. C., Nov. 11, 1864; buried in Old Cemetery.
