Snyder, one of the best and most highly esteemed residents of Snake Spring Valley, died at his home on Saturday morning at 4 o'clock, aged 65 years, 8 months and 16 days. Deceased had been suffering for some time. Mr. Snyder was a farmer all his life and owned a farm of his own. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren for a number of years and always took an interest in the welfare and the advancement of the work. Industrious, progressive, upright, hospitable and helpful, he won the confidence and esteem of all who knew him and will be greatly missed not only in his family, to which he was devotedly attached, but by the entire community in which he lived. His wife, Emma Snyder, preceded him to the spiritual world some 8 years ago. He is survived by two sons, John S. and George S., and three daughters, Mrs. Staley Ritchey, Mrs. Charles Dibert and Mrs. William England, all of Snake Spring township. He is also survived by two brothers, Isaac D. and George D. Snyder; four half-brothers, Joseph F., James C., Jesse L. and William F. Snyder, and one half-sister, Mrs. Adam A. Snyder. The funeral services took place Monday, with services in the Church of the Brethren, conducted by Elder W. S. Ritchey, assisted by Elder D. M. VanHorn. -- Snake Spring Correspondent.
