SPROW For many years a resident of Bedford county, died at his home in Saxton at 8.55 o'clock last Tuesday night after a brief illness. In the days of the Saxton furnace he was superintendent of the plant from 1901 until 1905, then going to Riddlesburg where he was in charge of the Colonial Iron company furnace from 1905 until 1913. After leaving the latter company's service he returned to Saxton where he conducted several business enterprises until his retirement several years ago. He was born on Nov. 11, 1858. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lilly May (Kurfman) Sprow; three daughters, Ann and Carrie Sprow and Mrs. Lauretta Graffious; two grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Jacob Sprow of Jackson, O., and Miss Annie C. Sprow of Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held in the Saxton Methodist church at 10.30 o'clock tomorrow morning. Interment will be made in the United Brethren cemetery at Thurmont, Md. Mr. Sprow was a member of the Saxton Methodist church and of lodge No. 352, F. and A.M. of Chester.
