The Cambria freeman. (Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: January 28, 1871
Major Lawrence Taliaferro died at his residence in Bedford, on Friday, at the
patriarchal age of eighty. He was born in Virginia, served in the war of 1812, was
Indian agent at Fort Snelling for twenty years, and storekeeper at Pittsburg from
1856 to 1861, since which he has been on the retired list and has resided in
Bedford.
