John H. Valentine  

The body of John H. Valentine native of Bedford county, who died at Detroit, 
Mich., was brought to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Marshall at Sproul.  
Funeral services was held in the Sproul Union church Sunday, 2 p. m., in charge 
of the Rev. J. Perry Miller, Methodist  Episcopal pastor.  Internment was made 
in Sproul cemetery.  Mr. Valentine was a son of Levi and Louise Valentine, and 
was born in Friends Cove, February 24, 1873.  Surviving are his wife, one 
daughter, Mrs. Marshall and three sons, Roy, Wilmer and Veryl, at the home, a 
brother and four sisters in Friend's Cove.
