Bedford inquirer. (Bedford, Pa.) January 06, 1865
Died December 25th, John Weisel, Sr., of St. Clair Township, aged 96 years, 3
months, and 16 days. Father Weisel was born in Bucks County, Pa., A. D., 1768. He
was a number of the German Reformed Church. He was confirmed in the old Tohicken
Church under the pastoral care of Rev. Thomas Pomp. He loved his church, though on
account of the infirmities of old age he could not attend the duties of the
sanctuary as he had done in former years. He leaves twelve children, five sons and
seven daughters, seventy-seven grand children and forty-three great grand children
to mourn his departure.
