BENJAMIN WALTER,

One of the best known and most highly respected citizens of Greenfield 
township, died at his home, one mile west of Sproul, on Monday evening 
at 9.20 o'clock, of dropsy, from which he had been a patient sufferer 
during an illness of sixteen weeks.  Mr. Walter was a son of George and 
Catharine Walter and was born near Queen, Bedford county, Dec. 8, 1860.  
He lived all his life in the community in which he was born, following 
the occupation of collier and farmer.  Mr. Walter was a consistent 
member of the Greenfield Reformed church for a number of years and was 
a good citizen.  Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Walter, and two 
daughters, Mrs. Harry Weyant and Miss Lydia, at home, his aged mother, 
Catharine Walter, and the following brothers and sisters: James, of 
Weyant, Shannon of Alexandria, Raymond and Francis and Mrs. Calvin H. 
Feather, all of Queen.
