We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ FHC Microfilm #0331358 Bedford County, Pennsylvania Will Book #1 Pages 275-277 Adam Beem In the name of God Amen, I, Adam Beem of Bedford County in the State of Pennsylvania being in perfect health of body and of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, considering the certainty of death and uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence, do therefore make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say, First and principally, I commit my Soul unto the hands of Almighty God and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors herein after named, And after my debts and funeral charges are paid I devise and bequeath as follows: I give and Bequeath to my Eldest son Jacob one hundred and Eighty pounds to be paid by my Executors. Item, I give and Bequeath unto my second Son Frederick one hundred and ninety pounds to be paid by my Executors. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son in law Casper Swend ten pounds. Item: I give and bequeath unto the heirs of George Free deceased fifty pounds to be equally divided among them. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son in law Christopher Baker fifty pounds. Item: it is my will that my two sons Jacob and Frederick is to have my plantation situate in the Friends Cove in Bedford County providing they agree to take it at the appraisement and if not then it is to be sold by my Executors. Item: I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate to my three sons wives Priscilla Beem, Eve Beem, Margaret Beem and to my two daughters Ann Mary, the wife of Michael Cook and Elizabeth the wife of Christopher Baker to be equally divided among them. Item: It is my will that in case if any of my children are dissatisfied of this my last Will and Testatment that then in such case, he, she, or they shall have only five pounds and no more. And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint George Beem and Michael Cook to be the Executors of this my last will and testament Revoking and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made, Ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and Testament. In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this ________ day of _______ in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ___________. Personally appeared before me the subscriber Register for the Probate of Wills and granting letters of Administration in and for said County, Jacob Fletcher and John Fletcher the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will or instrument in writing who being duly sworn do say that they were personally present and heard and saw Adam Beem the Testator sign seal publish pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument as and for his Last Will and Testament, that at the time of doing thereof the Testator (Adam Beem) was of sound and disposing mind and memory according to the best of these deponants knowledge and belief and that they subscribed their names thereto as witnesses at the instance of the Testator and at his request.
