In the first place I desire that all my just debts funeral expenses shall be paid by my Executors out of my personal estate. It is my will and I do hereby direct that my affectionate wife shall have, occupy and enjoy all the proceeds and profits arising out of and from all the Real Estate belonging to me at my decease during her natural life. Provided she prefers leaving my mansion place she shall have the whole control on renting it out in such manner as she chooses during her life and receive the proceeds as aforesaid. Also I direct that my said wife shall have all my household and kitchen furniture to do with as she desires, and one horse creature of her own choice and two cows of her own choice and as many other articles about my mansion place as she may choose to take. The balance of the Stocks upon the farm, after my wife has made her choice shall be sold at public vendue by my Executors. I give and bequeath to my son John Griffith Six thousand dollars in addition to the four thousand four hundred dollars, which he has already received, which will make him equal with my son Samuel to whom I have this day conveyed the farm upon which he resides, at the sum of Five thousand dollars - The said Six thousand dollars shall be paid to my son John immediately after my decease if not paid by me in my lifetime. As regarding all my estate after the decease of my said wife I direct that it shall be sold and dispersed of by my two sons John and Samuel as they think proper and the proceeds equally divided between them. If there should be any money due me at my decease I give and bequeath it to my said sons John and Samuel to be equally divided between them after John shall have received the aforesaid Six thousand dollars. Finally I hereby constitute my sons John and Samuel Executors of this my last will and testament. Witness my hand and seal this 16th day of October 1843. John Griffith (signed and sealed) Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the Testator as his last will and testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnesses in presence of the Testator and at his request. S. Mason (signed) Henry Kauffman (signed) Bedford County SS Personally appeared before the Deputy Register for the Probate of Wills in and for said county Solomon Mason Esq. and Henry Kauffman. The subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing who being duly sworn according to Law do depose and say that they were present and saw the Testator John Griffith sign his name to the same and heard him pronounce and declare said instrument of writing to be his last will and testament, that he desired them to sign their names as witnesses thereto and at the time of so doing the said Testator was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief. Mason (signed) Henry Kaufman (signed) Be it remembered by these presents that I John Griffith of Rush County, Indiana do hereby relinquish all my right & claim as co-executor of the last will & testament of John Griffith late of Bedford Township, Bedford County & State of Pennsylvania in favor of Samuel Griffith the other Executor named in said will & I hereby consent that said Samuel may individually take upon himself the Execution of said will according to the laws of Penna. as I hereby waive and surrender all my right to act with said Samuel in reference to said will to him said Samuel. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th December, A.D. 1843. John Griffith (signed and sealed) Be it remembered that on the 18th day of January Anno Domini 1844 Letters Testamentary were issued to Samuel Griffith Executor of the foregoing will named he having first being duly affirmed according to Law.
