All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/bedford/ ________________________________________________ Bedford County Will Book 1, page 531 In the name of God Amen I John McCoy of Cumberland Valley Township, Bedford County, State and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, being in perfect healt of body and of sound and disposing mind, memory and understand considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time being and being desireous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby he the better prepared to leave the world, when it shall please God to call me hence, I therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say; First and peacefully I commit my sourl into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decetnly buried at the discretion of my executors here after mentioned, and after my Debts and funeral charges are paid, I devise and bequeath as follows; Viz, I give and bequath unto my beloved children Susanna, James, Price, John, Joseph, William and Edmund, Mary, Agnes, Archibald and George all my voeable probperty except my beloved wife Rebecca thirds, and next I bequeath unto my beloved wife the plantation whereon I now live during her widowhood to be at her dsiposal. But in case she should again be married, then the plantation to be sold and the price thereof to be equally divided among my elven children above named, except the third to be retained in the hands of the purchaser, by paying legal interest unto my beloved wife yearly during her life and then to be equally divided among my children, above stated. Also the accounts wherewith William Coulter and Edmund McCoy stand charged with, I give and bequeath unto my two youngest sons Archibald and George and the accounts wherewith my son Price is charged with to stand open until the land is sold and then equally divided among my children as above mentioned. A certain account with which wherewith Susanna martin stands charged with it is my will and desire it should not be ????? until after he desseace and then to equally divided among my children as above directed and lastly I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Rebecca and my son Joseph to be sole executors of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto put my hand and affixed my seal the 26th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen. Johnathon Cessna James Elder Whereas, I John mcCoy of bedford County, having made and duly executed my last will and testament in writing, having date the 28th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen, which said last will and testament and every clause bequest and devise therein contained, I do hereby rectify and confirm and being desirous of makeing addition, thus do therefore hereby make this my codicil which I will and desie shall be taken and take as part of my said will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say, i do leave and bequest to my dearly beloved wife, Rebeckah all the beds and bedding which may remain at my decease to be divided between herself and my two youngest sons Archibald and George and also as much grain and meal as will suffice for theri sustinance for the better of a year. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 3rd day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighteen.
