I John Perdew, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory do make & publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) I will that all my just debts as shall be by me owing at my death together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching the proving of or other wise concerning my will shall in the first place out of my personal estate and effects be fully paid and satisfied, and from and after payment there of and subject there unto then my Will is that I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Perdew all my real and personal estate, all my goods, stock, chattels and house hold furniture to have and to hold the same as long as she retains my name or otherwise remains my widow and my Will is as same as she remains no longer my widow, my property shall be equally divided among my four children Rebecca, Sarah, William and Nancy to be apprised & equally divided among them, share and share alike. And I make and ordain my beloved wife Mary Perdew sold executor of this my last Will and Testament. In witness thereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this the fourteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two. John Perdew Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named John Perdew to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses there unto. Archibald Casteel William Casteel Patrick Donahoe Bedford Co., PA Personally came the subscribers, Deputy Register, for the probate of Wills and for granting Letters of Administrators in and for said county Archibald Casteel and Patrick Donahoe, two of the subscribing witnesses of the foregoing instrument of writing and being duly sworn according to law to depose and say that they were personally present and saw and heard the testator John Perdew sign, seal and publish and pronounce & declare the same instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament. That at the time there of the said testator was of sound and deposing mind, memory and understanding according to the best of deponants knowledge and belief and that they signed their names there unto as witnesses in the presence of the testator at his request in the presence of each other.
