I William Perdew considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory blessed be to Almighty God for the same do herby make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first that all my just debts be paid and my funeral expenses together and all charges proving of or otherwise concerning that my will shall in the first place be fully paid and satisfied I give and bequeth unto my beloved wife Charity Perdew my house that I now live in also my furniture and all my kitchen furniture and all my beds and beddings existing and I also say that all profits that may arise from the place that I now live on is to keep my wife Charity Perdew and my son Asa Perdew as long as my wife Charity Perdew is my widow I also say my wife Charity Perdew is to have two cows which is in lieu of this dower or thirds all to be managed by my executor the way he thinks may be the most advantagous for their use and all the rest of my moveable property is to be sold and equally divided among my eleven children William Perdew, Laban Perdew, Sarah Dicken, James Perdew, Elijah Perdew, John Perdew, Mary Blair, Asa Perdew, Rebecca Johnson, Keziah Dicken, Charity Casteel. I also say that any monies that may be owing to me by my children at my death therefore none of them is to pay the money nor interest until the death of my beloved wife Charity Perdew then my said executor shall make edit of my estate as he may think the most advantageous I also say that I implore my said executor to convey all my said property and do all the business as if I had done it myself I furthur say that if my executor has no chance that he thinks is advantageous of selling my real property he is to wait until he has a chance I also say that any monies he is owing to me at the time of my death and all that my land sells for and after all charges is paid is to be equally divided among my eleven mentioned children I also appoint my executor guardian of my son Asa Perdew that he is to keep his share of my estate also four notes of land against John Blair all without interest and give it to my son Asa Perdew as he needs it also I say that my executor is to have four hundred dollars for managing my son Asa Perdew. I also say that my son Asa is to have one bed and bedding and bedsteads and one cow. I now appoint my son John Perdew sole executor of this my last will and testament revoking all other wills made by me and made in witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of November one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight.
