JOHANN GEORGE BORSTLER was born about Christmas, 1677, in "Deutschland in der Ober-Pfalz im Dorffe Turkenheim an der Hartz", a son of Adam and Antonille BORSTLER. He was born and raised in the Lutheran religion and baptized by the pastor of the village not long after his birth. He was a day laborer his entire life. He married twice: first, in 1710, to Catharine nee DENOI, with whom he had six children, all of whom died before he became a Moravian.; second, in 1720, to Catharine nee LUCK. In September of 1732, he emigrated on the ship "Loyal Judith" with his last wife. In 1743 he was in Oley and was received into the Moravian congregation there in 1748. He died in Oley on Exaudi Sunday, May 27, 1759, aged 81 years and 5 months and was buried in the cemetery of the Oley congregation on May 29th. 2. CATHARINE BORSTLER, nee LUCK, was born in Savoy in 1693, about Easter. Immediately after her birth she was baptized by a military chaplain. Her father was Johann Just LUCK, a soldier in the French service. Her mother was Apollone nee SCHAEFER. Her parents settled in the Palatinate, in which their daughter was raised in the Lutheran religion in the village of Kirchheim, not far from Worms. She bore her husband four children, two sons and two daughters, of whom only one daughter survived. Elizabeth, born October 17, 1733, Friday at 10am in Oley, baptized in 1738 by Pastor Schmidt of the Lutheran religion. Her birthdate is also given as September 10th. CATHARINA BORSTLER, a widow, died February 10, 1770 3. JACOB BORSTLER, was born in Germany in the Upper Palatinate in the village of Fussgenem in 1700 in Holy Week, and baptized by the pastor of that place. He and his parents were members of the Lutheran religion. His father was Dewald BORSTLER and his mother was Maria Catharine nee KEMP. He was a farmer and emigrated as a single man in 1724. His parents remained in Germany. He was married, in the middle of April 1727, to Catharine nee PETER. He was received into the Moravian congregation at Salisbury (Emmaus) in 1747. One son and four daughters were born to this couple 4. CATHARINE BORSTLER, nee PETER, was born in Germany near Soelingen on April 4, 1706, and was baptized by the pastor of that place immediately after her birth. She was raised in the Reformed religion. Her father was Engle PETER and her mother was Catharine nee HARTKOPF. In the year 1720 she emigrated with her parents and subsequently married, as stated above. Their children were: (A) Maria Catharine, born in Pa., March 15, 1728, baptized in Oley by the Dunkards. (B) Anna Maria, born in Pa., February 12, 1730, baptized in Bethlehem by Peter Bohler as an adult. Married to FREY. (C) Johannes, born in Oley, January 5, 1732, baptized in Bethlehem by Joseph Spangenberg nearly as an adult. (D) Elisabeth, born October 12, 1733, baptized in Bethlehem by Peter Bohler, at which time her original name of Susanna was changed. (E) Salome, born May 5, 1736 in Oley, baptized in 1748 in Bethlehem by Johannes. At that time her original name of Elizabeth was changed. Married a STEINER. 5. JUST BITTING (BUTTING), was born in Germany in the Palatinate in the village of Franzheim on June 24, 1713, and was immediately baptized by the pastor of that place. He was raised in the Reformed religion. His father was Henric BUTTING, and his mother was Catharine nee SCHAEFFER. In 1723, he and his parents emigrated; he was a farmer. In 1743 he married Agnus nee DOTTER. In 1743 he joined the Moravians. 6. AGNUS BITTING (BUTTING), nee DOTTER, was born in Pennsylvania on February 14, 1727, and after her birth was baptized into the Reformed religion. Her father was Hieronymus DOTTER, and her mother was Catharine nee WESEL. She joined the Moravians in 1756. Children of the Bittings were: (A) Sophia, born in Falkner Swamp, May 13, 1744, old style, baptized at half a year by Jacob Lischy. (B) Henrich, born in Falkner Swamp, July 7, 1745, baptized in August by Jacob Lischy, sponsors were the Bruchs. (C) Catharine, born at Falkner Swamp, October 23, 1746, old style, baptized at the end of November by Brother Uthley. Sponsors were Mrs. Schaff, Mrs. Uthley, and Mrs. Oerter. (D) Rahel, born in Falkner Swamp, December 6, 1747, old style, unbaptized. (E) Joseph, born in Falkner Swamp, April 7, 1749, old style, baptized April 9 by Brother Pyrlaeus. JOHANNES LEINBACH, born in Hochstadt in the Wetterau in Germany February 18, 1712, and at once baptized in the Reformed religion in which he was lso raised by his parents. His father was Johannes Leinbach, organist, his mother was Elisabeth nee KLEISS. He emigrated with them in 1723. Here he devoted himself to the soil as a farmer. On August 12, 1735, he married Catharina nee RIEM, and joined the Moravians in 1743. 8. CATHARINA LEINBACH, nee RIEM, was born in Germany in the Upper Palatinate at Leiman, near Heidelberg on January 1, 1712 and baptized eight days after her birth in the Reformed religion. She emigrated in 1717 with her parents Eberhard Riem and Elisabeth nee SCHWAB. Children of Johannes and Catharina Leinbach are: (A) Elisabeth, born in Oley June 7, 1736, baptized November 19, 1737 by Pastor Goetschy; moved to Bethlehem in 1755. JOHANN HENRICH NEUKIRCH was born in Hahn in the territory of Berg, not far from Dusseldorf, June 19, 1708. He was baptized the same week by the pastor of that place in the Reformed religion. His parents were Johannes NEUKIRCH and Elizabeth nee WOHLFERTS. He was married twice. His first wife, in 1731, was Anna Margaretha nee ARNDTS, who died in Germany. He emigrated as a widower with his little son from the first marriage on September 20, 1738, ship "Nancy". He was a weaver. His second marriage to Maria Gertraud nee HARTMANN took place in Maxatawny the beginning of November 1739. He joined the Moravian Church in 1742. From his first marriage he had one son listed below under his second wife. 10. MARIA GERTRAUD NEUKIRCH, nee HARTMANN, was born in the territory of Berg in the parish of Wald which belongs to the princes of the Palatinate on February 7, 1718, and baptized immediately thereafter by the pastor of that place in the Reformed religion. Her parents were Heinrich HARTMANN and Margaretha nee BELL. She emigrated with her parents in 1725 and remained with them until she entered marriage. Children were: (A) Johann Henrich, born at Elberfeld in the Palatinate October 18, 1732, baptized immediately by the pastor of that place. (B) Johannes, born in Oley February 27, 1743, baptized March 4 by Brother Pyrlaeus. Sponsors, Johannes Leinbach Sr., Henrich Leinbach, cousin. FRIEDRICH LEINBACH was born at Hochstadt in Germany July 15, 1703 and baptized right afterwards by Pastor Bender, the pastor there, in the Reformed religion. His parents were Johannes LEINBACH and Elisabeth nee KLEISS. He learned the trade of tailor in his youth. He emigrated to Pennsylvania with his parents in 1723. He married June 2, 1737, Elisabeth nee FREY. In 1742 he was received into the congregation at Oley. 12. ELISABETH LEINBACH, nee FREY, was born in Skippack July 1, 1719. She was left unbaptized in her youth and was baptized by Brother Ludwig May 6, 1742. Her parents were Henrich FREY, a turner, and Maria Catharine nee LEVERING. She was received by the Moravians with her husband. Children were: (A) Johannes, born 1738 in Skippack, unbaptized, died January 10, 1746 in Oley (B) Henrich, born in Skippack, Worcester Township, February 2, 1739, unbaptized; moved to Bethlehem March 21, 1758 (C) Jacob, born in Skippack April 2, 1740, unbaptized (D) Benjamin, born in Worcester Township September 20, 1741, unbaptized (E) Elisabeth, born in Exeter April 7, 1743, baptized at ten days by Eschenbach. JOHAN HENRICH LEINBACH was born at Hochstadt, in Germany, November 26, 1705, and baptized there right after his birth by Pastor Bender of that place, in the Reformed religion. His parents were Johannes LEINBACH and Elisabeth nee KLIESS, with whom he emigrated with in 1723, becoming a farmer and remaining with them until November 2, 1739, when he married Salome, later renamed Johanna, nee HERRMANN. In 1748 he was received into the congregation. 14 JOHANNA LEINBACH, nee HERRMANN, was born in Conestoga, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, March 16, 1718. She was of the Reformed religion, but remained unbaptized until May 6, 1742, when she was baptized by Brother Ludwig with the name of Johanna and lost her original name of Salome. Her parents were Daniel HERRMANN, and Maria Catharine Elisabeth nee OBERMULLER. She was received into the congregation in 1743. Children were: (A) Anna, born in Bethlehem September 25, 1740, baptized in Bethlehem at the Synod in 1748 by Johannes; moved to Bethlehem in 1752 (B) Elisabeth, born in Oley February 17, 1742, baptized in Bethlehem in 1748 by Brother Cammerhoff. MARTIN MOLL, was born in Wurttemberg in the village of Grubingen on February 6, 1722, and baptized at the same time by the pastor of that place in the Lutheran religion. By trade he was a carpenter. His father was Michael MOLL, a farmer, and his mother's name was Waldburg, nee DIEZ. In 1745 he married Maria Catharine nee KERR, and emigrated with his wife in 1747 on the "Restauration". Martin Moll's obituary cites his wife's name as Barbara and says that they were married in 1742. He joined the Moravians at Warwick in 1749. He died November 24, 1754, was buried by Brother Soelle, the 26th. His obituary describes his last days. 16. MARIA CATHARINE MOLL, nee KERR, later, MRS. JACOB GRATER, was born in Wurttemberg in the village of Lustenau in the month of May 1722 to Michael and Barbara KERR, and baptized right after her birth in the Lutheran religion by the pastor there. She was received into the congregation March 21, 1756. After the death of her husband she remained as a widow in Oley until 1758 when she married Jacob Graeter from Heidelberg and moved there in the middle of May. Another source says she moved March 21, 1758. Her marriage took place on April 11, 1758. Children: (A) Maria Barbara, born at Lustnau January 22, 1744, and baptized the same day by the pastor there. Moved to Bethlehem April 28, 1758. (B) Johannes, born in Oley January 25, 1749, baptized February 2 by Johannes. Sponsors, the parents. JOHANN TURCK (DETURCK), was born in Oley September 23, 1713, to Isaac TURCK, who was born in Frankenthal, and Maria nee LEFEBER, from the Palatinate, from Pelicam. Isaac DeTurck, with Joshua KOCHERTHAL, along with members of the Lefever family, emigrated in 1708. Johann DeTurck was baptized in 1743 in Oley since he stemmed from the Mennonites. He was a farmer. On May 13, 1740, he married Debora nee HOCH. He was received by the Moravians in 1741. ELISABETH DOTTER, nee ANTES, was born in Falkner Swamp, Frederick Township, February 9, 1734, baptized thereafter at five weeks of age by Pastor Boehm in the Reformed religion. Her father was Heinrich ANTES, her mother was Christina. She married Philipp DOTTER in May 1754. Children: (A) Anna Benigna, born in Falkner Swamp February 7, 1755, baptized not long thereafter by Brother Graff (B) Anna, born Falkner Swamp December 21, 1756, baptized January 17, 1757 by Brother Brandmuller. Sponsors, Mrs. Christina Antes, the mother, and Rosina Muller (C) Elisabeth, born May 7, 1759, baptized in her parents house by Brother G. JOHANNES LEINBACH SENIOR, was born in the Wetterau in Germany at Langenselbold on March 9, 1674, and was baptized there immediately after his birth by the pastor of that place in the Reformed religion, in which he was raised by his parents, Henrich LEINBACH, and Barbara nee LERCH. In Germany he was an organist. He married Anna Elisabeth KLIESS on October 2, 1700, and emigrated with his wife September 11, 1723. In 1742 he was received into the congregation. He died November 20, 1747, aged 73 years, 7 months, and 11 days. 20. ANNA ELISABETH LEINBACH, nee KLIESS, was born in Germany at Eidengesess in the Wetterau on February 2, 1680, and baptized there right after her birth by the pastor of that place in the Lutheran religion, in which she was raised by her parents, Adam KLIESS, and Elisabeth nee SCHILLINGER. She had five children: 1) Freidrich; 2) Johann Henrich; 3) Johannes; 4) Johanna Maria; 5) Maria Barbara The following information is gathered from a variety of pages in the register: MARIA, wife of ABRAHAM PETER (POTER), and daughter of SAMUEL HOCH, was born February 1729, and accepted into the congregation April 24, 1757, when she was baptized in the Gemeinhaus in Oley by Joseph Spangenberg.
