Dehaven for leave to choose a guardian Recorded vol 19 page 211 Dec 19, 1861, Hannah M. Dehaven appears in open Court and makes choice of George W. Smith as her guardian - same day the Court approve of said choice and appoint said George W. Smith as guardian as aforesaid, and direct him to give a bond with security in the sum of six hundred dollars who approved of by the court. Bond filed. ----- Petition of Barbara A. DeHaven for leave to choose a guardian Recorded vol 19 page 211 Dec. 19, 1861 Barbara A. DeHaven appears in open Court and makes choice of George W. Smith as her guardian, same day the Court approve of her choice and appoint George W. Smith her guardian and direct him to give bond with security in the sum of six hundred dollars who approved of by the Court. Bonds filed. ----- KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we, George W. Smith of Caernarvon Township and William Wolf of Robeson Township Berks county and state of Pennsylvania, are HELD and firmly BOUND to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the sum of Six Hundred Dollars, lawful money, to be to the said Commonwealth, her certain Attorney or Assigns, to which payment well and truly to be made and done, we do BIND ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, Administrators and each of us, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated the twenty seventh day of December A.D. one thousand eight hundred and sixty one. The Condition of this Obligation is Such: THAT IF THE ABOVE ABOUNDEN George W. Smith Guardian of Barbara A. DeHaven a minor daughter of John DeHaven late of Schuylkill county, deceased, shall, at least once in every three years, and at any other time when required by the Orphans’ Court, for the county of Berks, render a JUST and TRUE account of the management of the property and estate of the said minor under his care, and shall also deliver up the said property, agreeably to the order and decree of the said Court, or the directions of law, and shall in all respects faithfully perform the DUTIES OF GUARDIAN of the said minor, then the above obligation shall be VOID, otherwise it shall be and remain in full FORCE and VIRTUE.
