His wife Anna Christina must have pre-deceased him as she is never mentioned in these estate papers. Below are petitions to the Orphan's court filed by sons Henry and George in 3/1753 regarding his property in Colebrookdale, resulting appraisal of his land, and a document showing oldest son George KIELER took the land and paid the other 8 siblings: 1. Administrative papers filed by son Henry on 3/27/1753 re estate of Henry KIELER, deceased showing the 9 children and 240 acres in Colebrookdale: "To the worshipful the Justices of the Orphan's Court now holden at Reading for the County of Berks: The Petition of Henry KIELER humbly sheweth: That your petitioner's father, Henry KIELER, dyed intestate leaving nine children viz: Margaret (now the wife of Conrad MOORE(MOHR), Elizabeth (now wife of Conrad WINDOWMAKER sic FENSTERMACHER], George, Catherine, Christiana, Henry, Hannah, Mary, and Rosanna, being possessed of a plantation and two hundred and forty acres of land situate in Colebrookdale Township, clear of debts and encumbrances, Wherefore your petitioner humbly prays your Worships to order the said land to be divided according to the Laws in such cases made, that so your petitioner may have his portion thereof March 27, 1753 and as in duty bound he'll pray to court. Also this petition dated 3/27/1753 by George, oldest son: "To the Worshipful the Justices of the Orphan's Court now holding at Reading for the county of Berks The Petition of George KIELER, eldest son and heir of Henry KIELER, deceased, HUMBLY SHEWETH That your petitioner is ready and willing to pay or secure to be paid unto the other children of his said father, Henry KIELER, the full value of their respective portions of that tract of two hundred and forty acres of land with the appurtenances situate in Colebrookdale Township whereof his said father dyed seized, and therefore humbly prays your worships to appoint persons to value the said land, and that your petitioner may have the same, he making satisfaction to the said younger children for their respective purports according to the valuation so to be made; March 27, 1753 And as in duty bound he will pray courts & signed ------George KIELER (Signature)" 3. Court Order on 3/27/1753 to evalutate the property of the deceased: "Berks County at Orphan's Court held in Reading in and for the County of Berks the twenty-seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty three before Conrad Weiser, Francis Parvin, William Bird and Jacob Levan, Esquires Justices: Henry KIELER having, by petition, set forth to the Court that his father Henry KIELER dyed intestate leaving nine children (in the petition named) being possessed of two hundred forty acres of land situate in Colebrookdale Township clear of debts and encumbrances and praying an order that the said land might be divided according to the Laws in such cases made, that so he might have his portion thereof, and thereupon George KIELER, eldest son and heir to the said Henry KIELER, deceased, declaring, by Petition, that he is ready and willing to pay unto the other children of his said father, the full values of their respective portions of that tract of land of two hundred and forty six acres with the appurtenances situate in Colebrookdale Township, whereof his said father dyed seized, and therefore humbly praying the Court to appoint persons to value the said land, and that he may have the same, he making satisfaction to the said younger children for their respective purports according to the valuation so to be made. IT IS ORDERED by the court that Derick CLEVER, Thomas POTTS, Thomas WILSON, Jon YODER, Daniel WOMELSDORFF and John SANDS, or any four of them, do view the said land of the intestate and make a valuation thereof, and make report of the same to this Court at another meeting of the Court. By the Court, James READ, Esq" 4. Result of Evaluation from Court Order - 3/30/1753: "On the thirtieth day of March 1753, we the subscribers, Thomas POTTS, John YODER, David WOMELSDORFF, Derick CLEVER, Thomas WILSON and John SANDS in observance and performance to an order of the Orphan's Court for the County of Berks dated the 27th day of this inst., have viewed and lawfully inspected the plantation of Henry KIELER, deceased, containing by survey, 245 acres with the common allowance of ?? and after maturity deliberating -- value thereof, do hereby --- make our reports to the said Governable Court that we inform to the best of our judgements and knowledge, Do value and appretiat the said plantation of Henry KIELER, deceased, with the improvements thereon at the sum of four hundred and eight-five pounds (485pds.), current money of Pennsylvania. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands the day and date aforesaid. signed: Tho. POTTS, Daniel WOMELSDORFF, John YODER, Thomas WILSON, Derick CLEVER, John SANDS." 5. Petition of George KIELER, who took the land, and paid his siblings: "May 9 1753 Before Conrad WEISER, Henry HARRY, Francis PARVIN, Jonas SEELY, William BIRD, Judges, Upon petition that the eldest son taketh the land according to the Act for settling intestate estate: To the Worshipful the Justices of the Orphans Court now holding at Reading for the County of Berks The Petition of George KIELER, eldest son and heir of Henry KIELER, deceased HUMBLY SHEWETH that your petitioner is willing and ready to pay so much money or other effects to the other children of his father, Henry KIELER deceased, the plantation and tract of land with the appurtenances whereof his said father dyed seized in Colebrookdale Township as their respective shares or purport doth amount unto according to the declared valuation made by the persons lately appointed by your worships to value the same. And therefore he humbly prays that he, making such satisfaction, shall hold and enjoy the said plantation and appurtenances as fully and freely as his said father hold the same and as in duty bound, pray the court. signature, George KIELER Additional Comments: John Henry KYLER was shown on tax list of Colebrookdale in 1734 Landholders of Philadelphia Co. There was no constable in this district for which reason there was no return on the quantity of land therein. Source: USGENWEB/pa/philadelphia/land/1734land.txt. It is not known the maiden name of Henry's wife Anna Catharine. However, there was a Mary Catharine Greiner who was sponsor at two of her children's baptisms: Maria Catharine and Maria Christina KIELER. Maria Catharine GREINER married John SANDS in 1735. She had emigrated with her parents and an aunt in 1717 - Her father was Joh. Theodore Griner/Greiner and his unnamed sister. It should be noted that John SANDS was one of the persons who were ordered to evaluate the land property of the estate of Henry Kieler in 3/1753.
