  Written: April 7, 1826
  
  Petition for Guardian for 4 minor children of Phillip Meese.  April 7, 1826.  
  Judges present were Robert Porter, Jacob Snyder.  The court appointed Anthony 
  Bickel guardian of the written named minors by the court.
  
  The Petition of Phillip Meese (Miess)
  Humbly showeth, that he has four children namely John, Phillip, Mary Ann and 
  Samuel who are minors under the age of fourteen and are entitled to part of 
  the real estate of their deceased grandfather Tobias Bickel late of Heidelberg 
  township.  That the said children have no guardian appointed to take care of 
  said estate, he therefor humbly prays the court to appoint some fit person as 
  their guardian and he will pray.

  To the Humble judge of the orphan court.  
  The petition of William and Elizabeth Mease children of Phillip Mease of 
  Lebanon county, humbly showeth that they are minors above 14 years of age and 
  have some estate to receive on the part of their deceased mother Magdlena 
  Mease----that they have no guardian appointed to take charge of their said 
  estate.  They therefor pray that the court to admit them to make choice of a 
  guardian for this purposes and they will pray.

  Anthony Bickel was appointed guardian for all children.
  
  Additional Comments:
  Tobias Bickel who died in Berks Co., Dec 24, 1814 left a will but it is in 
  German text and has not been translated that I know of.  This Guardianship 
  paper was found in the file of Tobias Bickel.  Tobias had a daughter Magdalena 
  Bickel by his second wife Elizabeth Feiser.  Magdalena married Phillip Meise
  (Meese). Anthony Bickel guardian was the brother to Tobias and uncle to the 
  children.
