Jacob Schneider, Orphans Court, 1781, Berks County At an Orphans Court held at Reading in and for the County of Berks the 27th day of March in the year of our Lord 1781 Before Henry Christ... Jacob Shoemaker and Daniel Levan Esqrs Justices of the said Court Upon the Petition of Cathrina Shneider Administatrix of all and Singular the goods and Chattels Rights and Credits which were of Jacob Shneider Late of the town of Reading deceased at the time of his Death who died Intestate, setting forth that the said Intestate Left Issue five children, to wit, Jacob, Michael, Philip, Magdalena, and Andrew all minors under fourteen years of age. That the Personal Estate of the sd Intestate is not sufficient to satisfy his Debts and Maintain and Educate his children aforesaid, and that the said Intestate died seized in fee of and in a certain messuage or Tenement and Lot of piece of ground situate in the town of Reading in Berks County aforesaid on the West side of Clement Street Marked in the general plan of the said town No 335 with the appurtenances and therefore praying the court to grant her an order to make sale of the said Messuage or Tenement and Lot of Ground with the appurtenances for the payment of the Debts Maintenance and Education of the Minor children of the said Intestate It is ordered by the court here, upon Due prove and consideration had of the premisses that the said Cathrina Shneider do expose the said Messuage or Tenement and Lot of ground to sale by publick vendue or outcy on the thirteenth day of April next and sell the same for the purposes in the said Petition Mentioned that Due publish and Timely Notice be given of the time and place of sale according to Law, and that she make Report of her doings herein to the next Orphans Court to be held for that County after such sale.
