County Written: September 20, 1723 Recorded: May 10, 1735 Nicholas Lesher, Jr. and Jacob Hill were also grantees of this deed. Edward Peters was a mariner from Bristol England. He was the nephew of James Peters who was a Quaker, a merchant and a soap maker from Bristol England. James Peters died and his nephew received this land through his will. The land had originally been obtained from William Markham and John Goodson, former commissioners of property of William Penn. It was obtained by a patent and contained 490 acres of land beginning at a post on Griffith Jones land. Jones was a Quaker Land speculator. James Peters was required to pay to the proprietary on the first day of the first month every year at Philadelphia one English silver sterling for each 100 acres. The patent was dated February 9. 1688/89. James Peters made a will on February 11, 1716 and bequeathed this land to Edward Peters. Edward Peters for the sum of 160 pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania sold this land to Nicholas Loescher Sr., Nicholas Loescher Jr., Jacob Hill. Witness were Caspar Leietecher, Charles Osborne, Charles Brockden, John Goodson and Joseph Watson . The land was to be divided into ten equal parts. Nicholas Loescher Sr. would receive four tenths. Nicholas Loescher Jr. would receive three tenths and Jacob Hill would receive three tenths. Additional Comments: In 1735 Jacob Hill sold his land to Schwenkfelters, George Dreisher and David Seipt. Jacob Hill bought land from John Ellis in District Twp. Berks Co. on Aug 13, 1735 This property was on the border of District and Oley Twps.
