DIEFFENBACH On Friday afternoon, Milton T. Dieffenbach, the eldest son of Jacob and Carrie Dieffenbach, died at his home at Crosskill Mills, Berks county, at the age of 23 years. Funeral services will be held next Saturday, with interment at Rehrersburg. The deceased suffered for almost a year from chronic bronchitis. He was favorably known in this vicinity, having taught school at Hebron, and while in charge of this school contracted a severe cold developing into bronchitis. He was the second honorman in the class of '94 of the Kutztown normal school and had an unusually strong mind and made his mark as a student. He was a conscientious teacher, a hard worker and is a martyr in the cause. Kindly disposed to all, he attracted a large circle of friends and his memory will ever stay as an example of service to his Master, devotion to his work and loyalty to his parents. The flower does not fade until it has given forth its fragrance. Lebanon Daily News, January 22, 1896
