I Nicholas Clementz Senior of Rockland Township, Berks County and State of Pennsylvania, Miller, being Sick in body but of Sound Memory (blessed be God) do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner form following, to wit- 1st I Recommend my soul unto the Hand of Almighty God who gave it me, and my Body to the Earth, from which it came, to be buried in a Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executors , and as touching such worldly affairs wherewith it has pleased God in his divine Providence to bless me in this Life, I give and devise of __d in manner ___ following __ after my Debts and Funeral charges be paid. 2nd I give unto William Shaffer, my Step Son, and unto his Heirs, the sum of Five Pounds, Fourteen Shillings, and four pence to be paid out of my Estate One Year after my Decease. 3rd I give unto Jacob Shaffer, brother of the above, and to his Heirs, the sum of Five Pounds, Fourteen shillings and four pence to be paid in manner above mentioned. 4th I give unto John Jacob Shaffer, brother of the two above named, and to his Heirs, Five Pounds, Fourteen shillings, and four pence to be paid in manner above named. 5th I give unto Peter Shaffer, brother of the aforenamed, the sum of Five Pounds, Fourteen shillings and four pence in the forgoing manner. 6th I give unto Margareth, Catharine, and Elisabeth Shaffer, Sisters of the aforenamed men, Each the sum of Five Pounds, Fourteen shillings, and four pence to be paid, each of them, in the aforementioned time and manner. 7th I give unto my present Wife Anna Maria and to her Heirs, the sum of Forty Pounds to be paid her out of my Real Estate, One half thereof one Year after my Decease and the Remaining half in two years after my Decease and the moveables she brought to be her Sole Property. 8th I give unto my Son John Nicholas Clementz, Peter Clementz, and Abraham Clementz, each the sum of Thirty Pound to be paid each of them separately in four years or if possible, sooner, after my Decease, and whatever is left (after all therewithin mentioned Dowers and demands be __hty paid) to be Equally Divided among them my three 3 daughters Eliz., Margaretha, and Esther. 9th I give unto my Daughter Elisabeth, the sum of Twenty One Pounds to be paid her in Seven years after my Decease 10th I give unto my Daughter Margaret, the sum of Twenty four Pounds to be paid her in five years after my Decease. 11th I give unto my Daughter Esther, the sum of Twenty four pounds to be pad her in six years after my Decease. 12th I will that all my Real Estate, with the Personal be sold after my Decease, and the children of my Second wife named Shafferšs first mentioned in this Will Equally divide the moveables left of their mother after my Decease. 13th Lastly I do hereby Constitute and appoint my Beloved Sons John Nicholas, Peter and Abraham Clementz to be my Sole Executors of this my Last will and Testament, Ratifying and Confirming this, and no other, to be my Last will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Eleventh day of August, in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty five. *the word Fifty was putt out and the word and naming Forty Pound as my wifešs done wrote before the signing and sealing.
