I John Sundag, of the Borough of Hamburg, in the County of Berks, and State of Pennsylvania, being in perfect health of body, and of sound mind, memory, and understanding, but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, to wit: First, it is my Will, and I do order and direct, that all my just debts and funeral expences be duly paid and satisfied, as soon and conveniently can be after my decease. Item, I give and bequeath unto my Son-in-law, Godfried Seidel, the sum of Three hundred Dollars, and to his heirs and assigns. Item, I give and bequeath unto my Son-in-law Andrew Koller, the sum of Three hundred Dollars, and to his heirs and assigns. Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Sarah Schwoyer, the sum of Five hundred and twenty five Dollars, and to her heirs and assigns. Item, I give and bequeath unto my son, John, the sum of Five hundred and twenty five Dollars, and to his heirs and assigns. And as touching all the rest, residue and remainder of my Estate, Real and Personal, of what kind or nature soever the same may be, in the County of Berks, aforesaid, or elsewhere, I do hereby order and direct, that my executors hereinafter named, or the Survivor of them, shall as soon as conveniently may be after my decease, sell and dispose of the same, by Public Sale (Vendue) for such price or prices as may be reasonably gotten for the same; and for that purpose, I do hereby authorize and empower my said executors, or the Survivor of them, to sign, seal, execute and acknowledge all such deed or deeds of conveyance as may be requisite and necessary for the granting and assuring the same to the purchaser or purchasers thereof, in fee simple. And the monies arising from such sales, together with all the residue and remainder of my estate, of what kind or nature the same may be, and not otherwise herein before bequeathed, I give and divide the same unto my five children, Polly, Sarah, Hannah, Eliza, and John, and to their heirs and assigns, forever, to be equally divided to and among them, share and share alike. And lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint my Son John and my Son-in-law Andrew Koller, to be the Executors of this my Will, hereby revoking all other wills, legacies and bequests, by me heretofore made, and declaring this, and no other, to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and Seal, this twenty first day of April A. D. One thousand eight hundred and fifty Seven. Johannes Sontag Peter Fister Israel Derr Berks County On the 16th day of August 1862 appeared Peter Fister one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will he being duly sworn did depose and say that he was present and did and hear the Testator John Sontag sign seal publish and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his Last Will and Testatment and that at the time of the doing thereof he was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge observation and belief and that the other witness now deceased had written the said will and signature and heard and saw what he the said witness himself heard and saw. Same day Zachs H. Maurer appeared he being duly sworn did depose and say that he was well acquainted with the handwriting of Israel Derr the said witness to said will and that he had frequently seen him write and that he verily believes that the name of said witness to said will and the Body of said Will is in said witness's own proper handwriting - Daniel Pottieger, Dep.
